It was with these words, accompanying a photo of Jerry Stiller, that actor Ben Stiller announced the disappearance of his father last night in New York. Jerry Stiller was 92 years old.

He was an actor who had made his name on Broadway and on television. But the general public remembers him especially in the role of Frank Constanza, George’s father, in the comedy series “Seinfeld”, a role for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award. Close to his son, he gives him the line in the crazy comedy “Zoolander”.

The father and the son had also played each other in the series “The King of Queens” on CBS. Very active in cinema since the 1970s, he has more than forty films to his credit, and his last appearance dates back to 2010 in Jonathan Newman’s “Swinging with the Finkels”.

In 1954, Jerry Stiller married Anne Meara, also an actress, with whom he had a daughter, Amy, born in 1961, also an actress (she played with her brother in several films) and then Ben, born in 1965. She also acted in comedy sketches for him on “The Ed Sullivan Show” until 1970. Anne Meara died in 2015.
